I Graduated from the Illustration course
at Brighton Polytechnic in 1989. I have a studio at Great Western Studios
in West London.
I paint onto wood with household emulsion and print using stencils,
scratching into the surface of the paint and scraping away layers, so
removing the newness of the image.
I work with publishers in the UK and USA including Random House, Penguin,
Harper Collins, Hodder Headline, Orion and Canongate Books and have
completed around 150 book cover illustrations to date. In 2001, I illustrated
the cover of "Life of Pi" by Yann Martel which was awarded
the 2002 Man Booker Prize.
Commissions have varied from work for private homes to film sets, shop
window displays and artwork for cruise ships. I have sold work to Peter
Gabriel, Paul Smith and Ted Baker.
My aim is to explore new areas of commercial art and to expand my personal
work. I will be participating in two shows later this year in London
and New York.
